3 Days Round Trip from Tenerife to La Gomera

Magma Yoga brings you the opportunity to enjoy the sea life in a sustainable and conscious way

This trip is ideal for an adventurous person who wants to explore different places and at the same time recharge, refresh and detox their body and mind out of the crowds at the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean.

We will depart from Los Cristianos harbour in Tenerife and sail to San Sebastian in La Gomera, where we will spend two nights.

During the trip, we have designed different activities for you to disconnect from the routine and reset yourself, surrounded by the unique nature of the Canary Islands.

Sailing & Yoga Tenerife

The boat is 12.5 metres long. It is fully furnished and equipped giving us the opportunity to enjoy a real sailing experience. Prepared for 12 crew members, it has a cabin, toilet, galley, saloon... all you need for a comfortable trip!

Day 1
At 11:00 we embark in Los Cristianos (Tenerife). Once on board and before heading to La Gomera, we will make a first stop in the natural anchorage of Masca beach, located in the west side of Tenerife. We will spend the day enjoying the volcanic black sand beach and we will swim under the breathtaking cliffs of Los Gigantes; one of the natural jewels of the island. In the afternoon we will sail in the open sea towards La Gomera.
Upon arrival at the marina of San Sebastian, we will be delighted with a pleasant vegan/vegetarian dinner on board before spending the night at the Hotel Torre del Conde.

Day 2
We will start the day with a Vinyasa Yoga session in the park of the Torre del Conde in San Sebastian. Afterwards, we will have a healthy breakfast at the hotel to recharge our batteries, before we start our excursion by car to explore the magical island of La Gomera.
On our way towards the center of the island, we will stop at the different lookouts where we will appreciate the huge diversity of vegetation and landscapes, caused by the orography and the microclimate that makes us well-known as  "Las Islas Afortunadas". In the National Park we will hike along a short trail where we will be able to discover the impressive laurisilva forest; a relic of the tertiary era and the best preserved of all the Canary Islands.
After taking a break and a picnic, we will continue to Valle Gran Rey in the west of the island and have a Sunset Yin Yoga session at the beach of Charco de la Condesa
Before getting back to our Hotel in San Sebastian, we will go for dinner in a local restaurant where we will taste typical Canarian food.

Day 3
After a light breakfast we will return to Tenerife. We will spend the morning sailing and receiving a real "masterclass" where we will learn all about the art of sailing. During the crossing, watch out and keep an eye on the sea in case we are lucky enough to see any creature. In Canarian waters there are more than 30 species of cetaceans: dolphins, whales, tortoise, etc.

To finish our 3 days trip, we will make our last anchor at La Caleta de Adeje in Tenerife for a Pranayama session (breathing work) and a guided meditation on board. Before disembarking in Los Cristianos harbour around 17:00pm, we will still have free time to have lunch, swim, snorkel and chill during the day in La Caleta beach.

We'll have a blast!

On Saturday morning, we will have a 75 minutes Vinyasa Flow practice. The session consists of: concentration, pranayama (breathing exercise), asanas (physical exercise) and relaxation.

To stretch our muscles and disconnect our minds after the hiking trail, there will be a 60 minutes Sunset Yin Yoga session.

Our last yoga session will be on Sunday. Pranayama (breathing), guided meditation and Yoga Nidra will take place on board.

On Friday, we will welcome you on board and will introduce you to the sailing boat. We will sail around the island of Tenerife until we reach Masca, where we will make our first anchoring manoeuvre. We will then sail to the marina of San Sebastián de La Gomera. If the weather allows us, we will open the sails during our journey.

The type of sailing we are going to do is called coastal, as we will always have a point of land in sight. Therefore, we will always be able to establish reference points (land, lighthouses, beacons...) to determine lines of position and situate ourselves on the nautical chart.

Likewise, we will be able to establish our course and we will also be able to carry out an estimated navigation time. In this type of navigation we will be able to know our arrival time according to our average speed.
Once we arrive at the marina, we will practice the first docking manoeuvre.

On Sunday, we will sail towards Tenerife and we will put into practice what we have learnt on the first crossing. During the trip we will have the opportunity to learn about some aspects of the weather, winds and atmospheric pressures prevailing in our sailing area. We will also learn how to orientate ourselves at sea sailing by the stars.
Throughout the trip we will learn nautical terminology and how sail works.
